Full TaleSpin is primarily an exploration about game design and its relationship with TTRPG's. From the macro of "How are TTRPG's made" to the micro of "How does a player make a decision", we interrogate the interactions we take for granted and try to find the impetus behind them.

To run a session is to design an experience. From your tone of voice, to the visuals you present (or choose not to), to the enemies you fight, to the people you meet, to the characters that die, both tabletop and video gaming share much of that same DNA. It's my hope that through employing design techniques from one we can refine the other.

About me

My name is Patrick Taranto, I run TTRPG's professionally for a living and have done so for the past 6 years. In that time I've made connections with amazing players and creatives from various different fields, managed and designed elaborate campaigns and stories that span multiple tables across multiple venues, been hired to run at conventions, provided TTRPG's as a service to the disabled, and almost co-authored a book (a story for some other time). I have a vested interests in the field of modern game design, specifically with how it relates to our experiences at the table
